Product Introduction
Socket welding flange is a flange welded with steel pipe at one end and bolted at the other end.
Sealing surface type:
Raised face (RF), concave and convex face (MFM), tenon and groove face (TG), ring joint face (RJ).
Scope of application:
Boiler and pressure vessel, petroleum, chemical, shipbuilding, pharmaceutical, metallurgy, machinery, food and other industries.
Commonly used in pipelines with PN ≤ 10.0MPa and DN ≤ 40.
Socket welding flange is a form of welding connection between flange and pipe. It is to insert the pipe into the flange and then weld it. The socket welding junction cannot be subject to radiographic inspection. The socket welding flange needs to undergo penetrant inspection during delivery inspection. Therefore, socket welding flange can be used if the fluid in the pipeline does not require high welding grade.
Socket-welded flange can be used for pipes with low pressure rating and small diameter, but the post-welding stress of the socket flange is not good, and it is easy to have incomplete penetration, resulting in cracks in the pipe. Therefore, the socket welding flange cannot be used for pipes with easy corrosion or high cleanliness requirements, or for high-pressure pipes, the socket welding flange cannot be used for pipes with small diameter.
The diameter of the socket welding flange is generally one big and one small, and the socket welding flange will not have the problem of beveling and misalignment, and the welding position can be shifted to flat welding. Generally, the socket welding flange is used for pipes less than 2 inches. The socket welding flange is mainly used for small diameter pipe fittings. This kind of pipe has thin wall thickness and is prone to misalignment and corrosion, so it is more suitable for socket welding flange.
