Product Introduction

Flat welding flange, also known as plate-type flat welding flange, flat flange, flat plate and lap welding flange, is to directly insert the pipe into the flange plate for welding. Generally, the inner diameter of the small-caliber flange is slightly larger than that of the pipe by 1-1.5mm. This gap is reserved for proper adjustment during installation. The gap left by the large-diameter flange will be larger.

The connection between the flat welding flange and the pipe is to insert the pipe into the inner hole of the flange to the appropriate position, and then lap weld. The slip-on flange is applicable to the pipeline system with low pressure rating and low pressure fluctuation, vibration and vibration. The advantage of flat welding flange is that it is easy to align when welding and assembling, and the price is relatively cheap, so it has been widely used.

How to distinguish the manufacturing process of flange

The flange processing technology is mainly divided into forging, casting, cutting and rolling.

Difference

Cast and forged flanges have the following advantages: their blank shape is accurate, small size, low cost, and only simple process is required. However, the forged flange has manufacturing defects, such as pores and cracks, and the internal organization streamline is not smooth enough. The obvious advantage of forged flanges is that they can be forged into various shapes with low cost.
Forged flanges usually have lower carbon content than cast flanges and are not easy to rust. They have smooth streamline, uniform internal structure and better mechanical properties than cast flanges. The cast flange shall be free of defects such as pores and cracks. Compared with cast flange, forged flange can withstand higher shear force and drawing force. However, if incorrect forging process is adopted, it will also cause large and uneven grain appearance and solidification cracking, resulting in higher cost than cast flange.
We can distinguish cast flange and forged flange from different production processes. Take centrifugal flange as an example. It is a cast flange. Centrifugal flange is produced by precision casting, which makes the structure of flange smaller than that of sand casting, improves the quality of flange, and reduces the occurrence of loose structure, pores, sand holes, etc.
Cutting process refers to manufacturing flange by directly cutting round plate with inner diameter, outer diameter and thickness. The round plate can be further processed from the intermediate plate, and then processing bolt hole and water line. The large diameter of this flange is limited by the width of the intermediate plate.
The cutting process refers to manufacturing the flange by cutting the stripes from the middle plate and then rolling them into a circle. This process is mainly used to produce large flanges. After the rolling process, weld and flatten the circle, and then process the serrated spiral surface and bolt hole.
