The socket welding flange is similar to the flat welding flange with diameter, but the pipe is inserted into the socket and socket hole of the flange for welding. Generally, there is only one weld on the back of the flange. This flange has a large nominal pressure range and is generally used for small-diameter pipes. Generally, it is not used on pipes with high temperature>260 degree or less than 45 degree under the condition of thermal cycle or large temperature gradient. Socket welding flange refers to the flange whose end is inserted into the flange ring ladder and welded at the pipe end and outside. There are two types: with neck and without neck. The neck pipe flange has good rigidity, small welding deformation and good sealing performance, and can be used in occasions with pressure of 1.0~10.0MPa. Type B flange for vessels also belongs to socket welding flange, which is used for occasions with high sealing requirements. During design, socket welding flange can be checked as integral flange.
