Stainless steel metal hose is an important component in modern industry. Corrugated metal hose, referred to as corrugated pipe, is a high-quality flexible pipe in modern industrial pipelines. It is mainly composed of corrugated pipe, mesh sleeve and joint. Its inner pipe is a thin-walled stainless steel corrugated pipe with spiral or annular waveform, and the net sleeve of the outer layer of the corrugated pipe is braided by stainless steel wire or steel strip according to certain parameters. The connector or flange at both ends of the hose is matched with the connector or flange of the customer's pipe.
Corrugated metal hose is generally composed of corrugated pipe, mesh sleeve and connector. The corrugated pipe is the body of the metal hose, playing a flexible role; The net sleeve plays the role of strengthening and shielding; The connector acts as a connection. For different use requirements, they are connected in different ways: bellows, mesh sleeve and joint are connected by welding, which is called welding type; The connection in the form of mechanical clamping is called mechanical clamping; In addition, there is also a combination of the above two methods, called hybrid.
Mesh sleeve: The mesh sleeve is woven by a number of strands of metal wires or several pieces of metal belts that cross each other in a certain order, and is sleeved on the outer surface of the metal bellows at a specified angle, playing a role of strengthening and shielding. The mesh sleeve not only shares the static load of the metal hose in the axial and radial directions, but also can ensure the safe and reliable operation of the metal hose under the condition that the fluid flows along the pipeline and generates pulsating effects. At the same time, it can also ensure that the corrugated part of the hose is not directly subject to mechanical damage such as relative friction and impact. The strength of corrugated pipe woven with mesh sleeve can be increased by a dozen to dozens of times. The maximum shielding capacity can reach 99.95%. The material of the mesh sleeve is generally the same as that of the bellows, and there are also two materials used together. Ordinary metal hoses only use a layer of mesh sleeve; For special occasions, there are also two or three layers of knitting. According to the different drift diameter and use requirements of corrugated pipe, it is usually made of wire with a diameter of 0.3~0.8mm or strip with a thickness of 0.2~0.5mm. 4~15 wires per share and one strip per ingot. Most of the wire mesh sleeves produced are 24 strand, 36 strand, 48 strand, 64 strand, corrugated pipe with extra large diameter, and 96 strand, 120 strand and 144 strand. In addition to the number of strands (wire), wire diameter, number of spindles (strip) and thickness, the main knitting parameters of the mesh cover also include coverage area, knitting distance, knitting angle, etc. They are the important basis for determining the performance of metal hoses.
Connector: the function of the connector is to connect the mesh sleeve and the corrugated pipe as a whole. At the same time, the connector is a part connecting the metal hose with the metal hose or other pipe fittings and equipment. It ensures that the medium works normally in the pipeline system. The material of the joint is usually the same as that of the corrugated pipe and the mesh sleeve, mostly stainless steel. In order to reduce the production cost, some metal hoses with large diameters can be made of carbon steel when conveying medium with low corrosivity or non corrosivity; For the joints of metal hoses working with corrosive media, if corresponding measures are taken in the design to avoid contact with the media, they can also be made of carbon steel.
The structural forms of joints are generally divided into three categories: screw type, flange type and quick type:
1. Threaded type: the connectors of metal hoses with a drift diameter of less than 50 mm are mainly threaded type under the condition of bearing high working pressure. When the threads are tightened, the inner and outer taper surfaces of the two connectors are closely matched to achieve sealing. The cone angle is generally 60 degrees, and 74 degrees is also useful. The structure has good sealing performance, but the concentricity of two butt pieces must be ensured during installation. In order to solve the problems of repeated disassembly and assembly and difficult concentricity in practical projects, the joint can also be designed as the fit of cone and ball joint.
2. Flange plate type: the joint of metal hose with a drift diameter of more than 25 mm, under the condition of bearing general working pressure, is mainly flange plate type, which is sealed in the form of mortise and tenon fit. The looper flange that can rotate radially or slide axially connects the two bodies under the tension of the fastening bolts. The sealing performance of the structure is good, but the processing is difficult, and the sealing surface is easy to be bruised. In special occasions where quick release is required, the holes through which the fastening bolts pass can be divided to make a quick release flange.
3. Quick type: the connectors of various metal hoses with a diameter of less than 100mm are generally quick type when quick handling is required. It is usually sealed with "O" shaped seal ring made of fluoroplastic or special rubber. When the handle is moved at a certain angle, the claw finger equivalent to a multiple thread is locked; The tighter the O-ring is pressed, the better its sealing performance. The structure is most suitable for fire field, battle field and other occasions where quick loading and unloading are required. In a few seconds, a group of joints can be docked or disassembled without any special tools.
Installation method
The hose can be installed horizontally, vertically or diagonally. The most ideal state is to install it vertically. At the same time, it should not be installed near the wheel. If necessary, it can be installed with baffles.
Generally, the metal hose can be divided into three lengths: the first is the compression length, that is, the length when the hose is compressed to the limit position; The second is the installation length, which is the length of the hose in the middle of half of the maximum displacement; The third is the stretching length, the length when the hose is stretched to the maximum limit.
When installing the hose, the hose should be in the middle position, which is called the installation length. When the hose is installed at this position, it can move in two directions when subjected to axial load. Otherwise, if it can only move in one direction, it will affect the strength of the metal hose and reduce its service life.
